How do you describe what you do:
As the Chief Content Strategist, I am responsible for curating and sharing the inspirational goodness we gather and develop at IM360. Alongside my creative team, I help shine the light on the content produced in our studios and out in the field through our website, social media platforms and community partnerships. Collaborating with our group of select expert contributors is a definite bonus too! There are no limits to inspiring on all levels—from finance to fitness, my day to day involves working with our contributor team and developing impactful, customized content to further inspire our growing IM360 audience.
In addition to managing content for the media firm, I cover people, places and finer things in Z Life, the lifestyle column I write for IM360. I also bring my column to life as a Co-Host for In The Moment, one of the four shows (and counting) produced by Inspired Media 360.
I love my job! From the everyday heroes I have the good fortune to meet, to the passion and commitment of our entire team, it’s good vibes only at work. Inspired Media 360 is right where I want to be and where I am excited to continue growing my career. I believe it IS possible to do what you love, love what you do AND have a ton of fun along the way.
What is the mission for your businesses’ giving:
Inspired Media 360’s mission is to inform, inspire and engage. We create and amplify content through IM360 produced shows, blogs, columns, social outreach and partnerships.
How do you give back to society through your business:
Inspired Media 360 is about giving at its core. Serving and supporting a myriad of causes and charities throughout the Valley and beyond is the nature of our business. Our day-to-day focus involves highlighting non-profit organizations and their missions to inspire community connection, awareness and involvement. Outside of the office, the IM360 team is committed to giving of its time and talents with numerous charities around town year-round.
Charity or Charities of choice:
So many causes/charities have my heart! Currently, I am involved with/support:
Phoenix Heart Ball, Healing Hearts Animal Rescue and Refuge, NAMI, World Wildlife Fund, Arizona Herpetological Society, International Child Art Foundation, Childhelp
Why have you supported these causes:
I believe supporting and giving to others is what we are ultimately put on this earth to do. Support underscores humility and compassion and in my opinion, connects us all in a beautiful way. Giving is living!
Favorite business based on their giving efforts and why:
Warby Parker. The company is known for its fashion-forward eyeglasses, sunnies, and big corporate heart. For every pair of glasses sold, Warby Parker and nonprofit partners cover the cost of a pair of glasses for someone in need. I love knowing that a portion of my dollars spent with the company supports programs providing free vision screenings and glasses to children. Warby Parker is style and substance—just a few of my favorite things.
Who influenced your spirit of giving and how:
My beautiful mom. From a very young age I recall being out and about with my stylish mother and watching her stop in her tracks to help people in need, regardless of the circumstance. What resonates with me still to this day is that her interaction with others wasn’t just about a handout; it was the energy and connection behind her spirit that greatly influences me yet today. Regardless of how much or how little she or we as a family had to give, she did so, whole-heartedly with style and grace.
How do you believe fashion can aid philanthropy:
Leaders in fashion have the opportunity and I believe a duty, to use their influence and voice for the betterment of society. From well-known celebrity status designers to young and socially conscious industry professionals, fashion is a statement in many ways. I love supporting designers who proudly wear their cause ‘on their sleeves.’ They have an active audience at their fingertips, why not use their influence to help? If not with their dollars at the very least, through awareness for a cause that resonates in some way. When I covered PROJECT, a major fashion industry tradeshow, for IM360, I couldn’t get enough of the philanthropic/charitable outreach proudly communicated by a number of brands—big and small. In particular, the Canadian company, MPG Sport, was beyond impressive with its ability to intertwine fashion and philanthropy seamlessly (pun intended). I now purchase their athleisure wear upon learning about the company’s slogan “a spirit of unification,” and the brand’s commitment to educating and feeding children in Uganda for 10+ years. Fashanthropists all the way.
What is your biggest philanthropic accomplishment:
Witnessing my kids lead with their heart, aspiring to positively make a difference for others and the world they live in is an accomplishment like no other. Thinking that I may perhaps play a small role in fostering their affinity toward giving and philanthropy makes me proud. It’s in the little things—their kindness toward strangers, the volunteer work they explore, the bold ideas concocted to make the world a better place for all living things—it’s all so satisfying and keeps me moving forward.
Favorite philanthropic quote:
"You give but little when you give of your possessions. It is when you give of yourself that you truly give."
~ Kahlil Gibran
