Phoenix Fashion Week continued their mission to bridge the gap between designers and buyers through this years’ runway show at Talking Stick Resort. Notable Valley fashionistas flooded the pool side runway including Oscar De Las Salas, Cynthia Sassi and Mandy Holmes. Fashionably Pink was the highlighted charity leading the crusade to bring the pink experience back to Arizona. You see, since Susan G. Koman abandoned their post in Arizona residents have been thinking pink and hungry to support a cause focused on breast cancer education and awareness.
On October 5th The Fashionably Pink Survivor & Celebrity Runway Show, powered by Tal Barkel, gave Arizona their pink pep step back. Community and fashion united and raised more than $15,000 for breast cancer research and specifically supported Don’t be a Chump! Check for a Lump! Sponsored by Tuft & Needle, Kendra Scott and DigitalWire360 the event had ample support.
The evening began with a glamorous cocktail reception inside the Style Villa, featuring a dramatic red carpet entrance for photo opportunities, mingling with local tastemakers, live DJ, and refreshing spirits. Famed auctioneer ‘Bobby D’ led the charge sharing giving opportunities with proceeds benefitting #dontbeachump and their #wigout program, which provides high quality wigs for post chemotherapy and complimentary mammograms for low-income women in Arizona.
“Our entire team here at Don’t Be a Chump! Check for a Lump! is thankful for this partnership with Phoenix Fashion Week and their support of breast cancer awareness by producing Fashionably Pink especially with the unfortunate closing of the Susan G. Komen office here in Phoenix,” said Holly Rose, Survivor and Founder, Don’t Be a Chump! Check for a Lump!
Set to the picture-perfect backdrop of Arizona’s desert night sky, the high energy fashion show began with a “pink inspired” fashions from The Glam Squad. Curated designers were also featured on the runway and worn by breast cancer survivors and recognizable local celebrities adorned in exclusive jewelry by Tal Barkel, including Channel 12’s Caribe Devine, with styling provided by TONI&GUY and Muze Beauty.
